👨💻 User Experience and Interactive Media Design Consultant
Since the mid 1990s, when I was still studying Advertising at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, I've been helping brands to build and consolidate their presence in interactive digital media. Back then I helped to build the web presence of courses and departments at the University.
Between 2000 and 2002 I worked at Portal Uai, from Jornal Estado de Minas, producing websites and Digital Communication projects for different audiences.
From 2002 to 2003 I worked as a Project Manager for Lazo Digital. I served clients such as Elmo Calçados and Lacqua di Fiori, helping to define the actions and web presence of these entities. The biggest projects I executed, however, were for Magazine Luiza (one of the big companies in Brazilian retail), helping to build the experiences of the "Consórcio Luiza", the "Lista de Casamento" websites and the product information project called "Tia Luiza".
As a consultant, I helped the Brazilian agency Plan B in the project to redesign the user experience for the portal and the online store of Telemig Celular, a mobile operator that later became Vivo. In this project, I did focus group sessions, in addition to developing personas, navigation flows and conceiving wireframes.
I once assembled a team of three (an Interface Designer, a Developer and myself) to conduct a job for a client in a different city. It was really challenging but a lot of fun. We built the portal for ATT (Associação de Tripulantes da TAM) and implemented a lot of functionalities from scratch.
I have also worked with agency A&C on a project for one of the main electric power utilities in Brazil, CEMIG. In this project I worked on the development of the user experiences for both their web portal and intranet with User Centered Design procedures that involved in-depth interviews, focus groups, card-sorting sessions and elaboration of navigation flows and wireframes.
In 2010 I collaborated with FUNDEP (one of the main entities in Brazil that manages entrance exams and selection processes promoted by private and public agencies in the country) on their portal called "Portal de Concursos" with usability testing where problems were discovered, and solutions were proposed to improve user experience. This project was developed with agencies Bolt and Mapa Digital.
Again, for Bolt, this time in partnership with colleague Karine Drumond, I conducted User Experience work with in-depth interviews and developing personas for the Humberto Abrão Laboratory of Clinical Analysis in their application project (which ended up being purchased by Hermes Pardini, the largest in the state and one of the largest in the country).
I have helped Editora Fórum (once one of the largest legal publishers in the country) with their service portal for subscribers throughout Brazil. In this project, I did user research, identified characteristics, and needs and shaped the experience of using the systems based on these discoveries, elaborating flows, proposing features, and delivering wireframes to the team that led the implementation.
From 2011 to 2017, I co-hosted the podcast Ainda Sem Nome with my colleague Felipe Menhem, where we talked about Digital Communication in 135 editions. In 2013 I worked on the dissemination of concepts, methodologies, and discussions on Interaction Design through short courses and videos.
I've tried to gather some of my experience over the years by writing a little bit of what I've learned in two books. They were published in 2021. One is about Interaction Design basics and the other has Digital Marketing basic concepts.
